Our Story

The Farmers

Crane Crest Farm is owned and operated by me, Casey Ter Beest, and my wife Erin, with Sawyer (10) and Cora (8) in tow. Erin and I met at Northwestern College in Orange City, IA, and we got married after I graduated in 2008. We moved to Seattle and lived there for two years before returning to the upper Midwest in Sioux Falls, SD. We also lived there for two years, and finally decided to lay down roots where I grew up, just west of tiny Alto, WI.  It has been a blessing and a challenge being in rural Wisconsin, but there isn't another place in the entire world in which we'd rather live. With Erin's parents in Green Lake, we are lucky to have both families nearby. Alto is also a wonderful community, and we hope to bring a little local food flavor to the more traditional dairy farm culture.

Casey

I'm Casey. I love being outside, spending time with my family, and watching the sun rise and set. I also enjoy such hobbies as reading, playing basketball and tennis, and playing board games. I feel joy when playing with my kids or immersing myself in nature. Like my grandpa Melvin and my dad Miley, I find that I like to whistle while I'm working.

Erin

I'm Erin. I love hanging out with family and friends and laughing, exploring new places, and learning about other cultures. I'm a really curious person and love to learn. Dancing and connecting deeply with others are some of my favorite activities. I am a digital marketer and work with small businesses on their social media and email marketing, which allows me to work from home. Casey and I take turns working and being on kid duty since we are a homeschooling family.
